When I returned from Dubai, given everything that had happened, my wife and I agreed that it might be a good idea for me to have a buddy to keep me company; Shannon took the initiative to looking for my new friend and stumbled on a Facebook post about sharing a pet dog.

A couple that travelled frequently for business were unable to commit to looking after their 11 month old rescue from the Island of Aruba. They were proposing a sharing arrangement whereby they would have the dog when they were home and when they were away the other family would care for the dog. Intrigued, Shannon inquired and we agreed to meet up.

We met 'Gypsy' in August 2023 - I was besotted when we met. She was a stunning shiny black Potcake mix of Whippet, Mexican Hairless and a few other minor breeds.

Needless to say we proposed that she become our full-time pet as it might be confusing to the Gypsy bouncing back and forth from family to family. With a little convincing they agreed and the rest as they say is history.

Since then she has remained my constant companion; she is next to me when write, when I work and when I relax. Although she is technically my dog, she is a true family pet - both Shannon and Adrian are afforded the same love and devotion that I am.

It is especially relevant that she arrived in our lives when she as I had lost two dogs in the span of six months and was at a loss. Her arrival was divinely timed and she is my constant companion.
